Application Process
The whole process is very simple, and AIESEC is by your side as support through every phase of your experience. We guide you through all the steps, from first creating a profile on the aiesec.org website, preparing for interviews and selecting a project, all the way to the results and official confirmation that your adventure is ready to begin.
Create a profile on the aiesec.org website. This way, AIESEC members in Serbia will get your contact details. We will contact you within 24-48 hours to arrange a consultation meeting. It is very important to leave your phone number when creating your profile for easier communication.

Requirements for applying to volunteer projects
Applying for AIESEC volunteer projects is simplified as much as possible and designed to be accessible to everyone who wants a change. The main requirements are that you are between 18 and 30 years old, that you live or study in Serbia, and that you have a solid knowledge of English (minimum B1 level) to communicate smoothly in an international environment. To secure your place, you have full freedom to apply for multiple different projects simultaneously. Although some specific positions may require additional skills, all those details will be clearly highlighted on the project profile itself, and our team is there to explain everything to you in a timely manner during the process.
What happens when you are accepted?
When you are accepted for an AIESEC experience, your preparation for the whole process officially begins. Everything starts with the payment of the fee, and then detailed planning and logistics await you, which include buying tickets, resolving visa and insurance, and finally departing on your trip.
Program fee
Participants pay a program fee indicated on each project listing. This fee allows AIESEC to continue investing in its activities and organising more projects. The fee is only due after you have been accepted - applying to one or more projects is completely free.
Preparation
Between acceptance and the project start date, there may be a period of a few weeks to a few months. During this time you will have calls and meetings with AIESEC Serbia and the project team to ensure you are fully prepared for the experience and your stay in the chosen country.
Buying travel tickets
Each project listing shows the exact start date. Within one month of acceptance you need to purchase your travel tickets and send your arrival details to AIESEC so that your arrival and the project start can be arranged on time.
Visa and insurance
Along with tickets, all required travel documents need to be arranged. Exchange programmes through AIESEC are conducted on a tourist visa, which is not required for most popular destinations. For precise information, visit the Ministry of Foreign Affairs website. Proof of travel insurance must also be submitted to AIESEC in a timely manner.

What is provided on the project?
Going on a project brings you complete security and support at every step of your journey. Below is a detailed overview of everything provided for you, from accommodation and work on the project to support from the team in Serbia and abroad, socializing, and tracking your personal development.
Accommodation is arranged for the full length of the project - usually with a host family, in student housing, or shared with other volunteers. The exact type depends on the project and is listed in its description.
Most projects provide food or a food allowance, depending on the arrangement with the host organisation. The exact details are listed in each project's description.
For projects that require one, the host organisation typically provides a laptop or access to the equipment needed for the work. If a project doesn't include this, it's clearly noted in its description.
The AIESEC Serbia team is with you from the moment you apply, through preparation and throughout your stay abroad - available for any questions along the way.
On arrival you're welcomed by the local AIESEC team, who help you settle in, get to know the area, and adjust to your new environment throughout the volunteering experience.
You work daily on concrete tasks within a socially impactful project, following a clear plan of activities with support from the organising team.
Through regular reflections and check-ins with the AIESEC team, you track your progress and the skills you're building throughout the exchange, so the experience carries lasting value.
Alongside the project work, there's time to socialise with other volunteers and the local community, explore the culture, and discover a new destination.

Applying is simple by creating a profile on our platform, after which you choose the project you like best. Our team will contact you for a brief interview and further processing.
Yes, accommodation is fully provided on every Global Volunteer project. You can be hosted in a student dormitory, an AIESEC house with other volunteers, or with a local family.
You cover the administrative fee for participating in the program, while accommodation and often food are provided on the project itself. You bear the costs of transportation, visa, and insurance yourself.
Volunteer projects last from 4 to 8 weeks, depending on the project you choose.
